Author Biography: Monika Lange

Monika Lange aka Mona Long is a new fiction writer and a
former research scientist, with numerous publications in scientific journals. Her
historical essay and fragments of her fiction were published in the Autumn and
Winter 2001 editions of The Copperfield Review; her personal essay appeared in the
January 2002 issue of the Reader's Digest's Polish edition and her prose is in
Cenotaph's new Book of Rememberance Anthology. She has just finished a
semi-autobiographical novel set in Iran just before the revolution of 1979, and
entitled OPIUM. Monika Lange spent many years in Iran, where she studied the
language, culture and history of this country, formerly known as Persia. Her other
novel, THE DANCING SHIVA, inspired by a statuette of the Dancing Shiva in her
father's study, is also ready for submission.
       
Monika Lange is a naturalized American citizen. A daugther of an economist and a lawyer, Ms. Lange was born and raised in Poland, moved to Iran in 1977, and to the US in 1985. She lives in California with her husband and daughter.
