What is the Purpose of War?

        Debra Ann Gentilotti

What is the purpose of war
I thought I was living in a civilized world……
doesn’t anyone believe in peace anymore we have been
fighting over resources, land and bricks for thousands of years
doesn’t anybody know how Abundant and Grande this world truly is?

If the purpose of war is
to feed our great need for greed, lead the whole world
around by one creed, I fear this is a sad misdeed, one that will only
sow the seeds for years and years of austere grief where the world is lost,
living on the edge with constant dread, never knowing what tomorrow will
bring!

If the purpose of war is
to have power to devour the world of what we abhor and ignore
the sores of all those who were lost in the roar and chore as their
families mourn and cry for those who have been so callously tossed……..
for a war is never necessary to any one cause…..it just bring more scars.

If the purpose of war is
to have no care to spare the tears of those who bare the despair
and glare with no God listening to anyone’s prayers…..
but he is listening and watching in much disgust he thought
he already paid for the sins of all of us.

What is the purpose of war
has history not taught us that glory never comes from the torment
of the innocent or forcing one view on the masses with no remorse
as everyone and every land has a the right to decide their own course
not one that is forced!”
